Krones and Pandia: Successful Collaboration for Top-Quality Results
Krones supplies systems for the beverage and food industry – from process and filling technology to packaging machines and IT solutions. Every day, millions of glass bottles, cans, and PET containers pass through a Krones system. As a full-service provider, Krones equips breweries, beverage bottlers, and food producers worldwide with both individual machines and complete production facilities.
A real-world example: In one plant, a machine stoppage occurred when an ejected preform became attached to another preform on the carousel. Thanks to modern monitoring solutions, the root cause was quickly and precisely identified.
Interview with the Krones Quality Department: Markus Müller, Johannes Lehner, and Oliver Riedhammer
Pandia: How did our product stand out from other options?
Krones: At first, we documented incidents in a traditional way: using tripods, smartphones in slow-motion mode, and plugged-in chargers. After just 40 minutes, the memory was full, and videos had to be deleted manually. This required constant on-site presence and additional personnel – which in turn generated significant extra costs.
Pandia: Which product feature was the key reason for your decision to work with us?
Krones: The mobility of the cameras, the ease of use, and the monitoring mode were decisive for us.
Pandia: What do you value most about working with Pandia?
Krones: Definitely the excellent support and the direct contact with Mauro. Whenever we have questions or issues, we always receive prompt and competent assistance!
Pandia: What convinced you during the product demo a year and a half ago?
Krones: The intuitive usability made it very easy for us to get started. The monitoring mode allows us to identify even the smallest details at high machine speeds – a huge advantage, especially for new developments and prototypes. Errors can be precisely analyzed through the recorded sequences.
The monitoring mode also provides great value for various departments. The saved sequences can be replayed as often as needed. This enables different teams to contribute new perspectives and collaboratively develop well-founded solutions to resolve issues. That’s why Pandia is actively recommended within the Krones Group.Pandia: Can you give another specific example of how the system has been used?
Krones: Of course! A customer from the UK was initially very skeptical because it was a complex fault. Our diagnosis was initially questioned. But thanks to the video recordings, we were able to clearly demonstrate the issue. The customer only approved the necessary adjustments after reviewing the footage – which ultimately saved a lot of time.
Without Pandia, the process would have taken much longer and required significantly more discussions. Thanks to the clear video evidence, the machines were quickly modified and made fully operational again – and in this case, there were actually multiple faults involved.
